"Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself."
--William Faulkner

In the last few weeks I have really ventured into some unknown territory of my life. Things that I have always wanted to do, but was too busy and put it off for another day...or another year. I swore every year that this would be the year. and now, it is. I feel the changes. I started reading again and watching waaaaaayyyy less TV. In fact, I have no desire to watch television, instead, I read. It's such a passion for me now and I love it!

Another new thing is...are you ready for this? I'm going to train for a triathlon. yes. you read correctly. ha! I have been trying for months to keep myself motivated in working out and staying healthy, but it's such a struggle. Even though I love running, I can't always make myself go. So, I was beyond thrilled when my dad informed me that he is going to start training for some sort of outdoor iron man competition this October. I don't think I'll be ready for October, so we're signing me up for January. It's going to take place somewhere in Tennessee and it will include hiking, kayaking and biking, all the things I LOVE! I'm not sure of all the details yet, so I'll keep you updated :)

Tomorrow is the first day of training, and while I'm not out of shape (or in any type of shape for that matter), I know this is going to be hard. I figured by putting it on my blog, you guys will hold me accountable. :) Now I have to go through with it, lol. Wish me luck!

Here is my motivational picture! lol They say if you try to vision your goal it helps...hmmmm...I'd kill for these abs! lol

Ha! If only you had the Nike iPod get up, we could race each other and train that way together. Today was my day to seriously kick my butt into gear. I was proud I made myself get up at 8am to go running. That NEVER happens. But I'm determined. I want my abs to look like your picture too! :-)

8am?!?!? wow girl, you are determined! lol I'm working on getting the ipod gear, today I went 3.8 miles, lol, and all I could think about was 1). I really need some music because "addicted to love" was stuck in my head, lol, and 2.) I feel that I should be tracking my new awesomeness, hahaha, I mean, somethings got to show for it right, lol.
