Last Thursday, John and I flew to the Dominican Republic to shoot Rachael and Oleg's wedding. I'm a huge nervous flyer, but as soon as I saw this view from our plane, I knew everything would be ok :)
I look a little freaked out, lol
I never sit by the window, but I couldn't resist checking this view out! wow!
We stayed at Casa de Campo and it was such a gorgeous resort! The wedding took place at Altos de Chavon, and I just can't wait to show you the shots we got there...it was a photographers dream! :) But more on that later :) This resort was so huge, we had to take a golf cart everywhere we went :) Too much fun!
see us in the mirror :)
check out that view from our room....whew.
On Friday a huge group of us took a buggy ride through the local villages, and the sugar canes.
The goggles and bandannas were very necessary :)
because at the end, a lot of us looked like this :)
When we went through the villages, it was kind of heart breaking. The children would run after the buggy's and try to slap our hands, some weren't even wearing clothes. Definitely a wake up for me. I've always been aware of poverty in other countries, but I guess seeing it first hand is a huge shock to me. wow.
sorry for the blurriness, we were going kinda fast.
It was all just so beautiful, I kept thanking God for allowing me to see His beauty in this world. It was amazing to go from the village and then to this, where it just seemed so peaceful.
We stopped at the sugar canes
I tried sugar cane for the first time :)
not what I had expected, haha
I think this was the Chavon River...either way, it was beautiful...
then we switched over to one of the 4-wheelers
John at the Rehearsal dinner :) They had a guy there rolling cigars, I think John was in heaven :)
We had an amazing time, definitly one we'll never forget :) Wedding photos coming soon! :)
