Divine Appointments...

I just got home from an awesome weekend of shooting with the fabulous Scarlett. We shot a wedding in Jekyll Island, but more of that to come later :)

After the wedding last night we were starving and decided to swing into Village Inn for a bite...actually, that isn't the entire story, let me start with...Divine appointments...God sets them daily, no matter how busy or tired we are and we choose to accept or decline.

Last night on our way home we first stopped into the Ale House, we figured they would still be serving food, we were wrong. In fact, the guy sent us to this place across the street and said it was open until at least 4am...he wasn't exactly telling the truth, it closed at 10pm. I figured he just said that so we would go away, but really, God was setting our appointment. From the place that "stayed open till 4am" we finally decided that we would cave and just go to village inn. We met some very interesting people in the booth behind us, who were just finishing up their bachelor party, and it made our 2am snack very enjoyable.

After they left we started to talk to our waitress Lisa. When she found out that we were wedding photographers, she started to open up and share her dreams and desires to one day be able to become a photographer. She talked about her 4 year old son, and how much she loves him and just does not get to see him as often as she would like, because as a single mother in this world, she has to work some crazy hours (i.e. 2 0'clock in the morning). We talked for a while and Scarlett and I gave her the names of some forums she could start with, and told her that reading blogs and networking with other photographers is a big part of how we learned a lot of what we know today. But, the most important key in chasing after your dreams is to leave it to God, and pray, pray, pray. Pray for His strength, Pray for His wisdom, Pray for His love to guide you. This is very important with life in general. While talking with her I could feel her pain and I wanted to help so badly. And then, I realized that this was our divine appointment that God had set up for us to just share the Lord with Lisa. I pray, especially on a day like today, that everyone recognizes their appointments and is constantly prepared for them. I've been praying for weeks now for God to set me an appointment and now, I'm ready for my next appointment Lord :)

Happy Easter!!! And keep your eyes and heart open, because you never know when God is going to lead you to someone who needs to hear just how much He loves them...
